MORE DISAPPOINTING TERMINATOR NEWS

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anton Yelchin has been cast as a teenage KYLE REESE in McG's upcoming Terminator Trilogy. In the film, the teen Reese befriends "Marcus", an early edition of the Terminator cyborg played in previous films by Arnold Schwarzenegger. "Et tu, Marcus?"

Now, in TERMINATOR, Reese describes the T-800 (Arnold) to Sarah like so:

"The 600-Series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy. But these are new. They look human. Sweat, bad breath, everything. Very hard to spot."

Ok, so the "Arnold series" were NEW when Reese was 22 (according to Cameron's script, Reese was 22yrs old), yet a teenage Reese befriends one? Let's say he's 19... technically, that's still a teenager (and Yelchin is 19 himself, as of last week).... so that would mean these "new" Terminators are actually 2 years old. In a war-torn world for survival, 2 years seems like a long time. I doubt anything 2 years old would still be considered "new". Does the Studio even watch the original movies they ruin? I know this sounds trivial, but for Terminator fans you simply do not mess with the original Mythos created by James Cameron.

Anway, REAL issue here is that he befriends a Terminator. This bothers me for various reasons. Not just because of the continuity issues, but because Terminators don't befriend humans to later betray. Not until atleast the T-1000 series. They're TERMINATORS, not secret agent spies.

Atleast its not a teen Kyle befriending a girl Terminator, falling in love only to have his heart broken. No, we'll leave that for the teen John Connor in the "Sarah Connor Crapicles". I wonder if fucking Derek Reese will be in the new trilogy, too. Or "Cameron" Terminator... since, ya know, she was apparently John Connor's personal Terminator and helped send Kyle back in time.
RARGH!!!!!

I'll admit. Don't like the TV show but I like the Cameron Terminator.

T-700?
But seriously, it'll be shit.
Is "originality" a dirty word in Hollywood now?

I am interested in seeing more of the future war, however I do not need to see "Kyle's Story". His story was the first Terminator as far as I'm concerned.

Let's focus more on John Connor and introduce Reese in a more cameo treatment during the final film of the new trilogy .

This could become "John & Kyle" /Tango & Cash very quickly. Lucas Prequel flags are sprouting up. I can already envision Reese harpin' on John with John retorting back "Geez, Reese what are you, my father?"
