STAR WARS THEMED MOVIE THEATER

The new theater the Alamo Drafthouse has just opened in the city of this Great Plains state.
The hip cineplex chain has just opened up a Star Wars movie theater unlike any you’ve seen before, complete with a 10-foot Death Star in the lobby. And yes, that thing’s operational. But that’s just one of the cool design features that makes this theater strong with the Force. See more photos below!

The inside of the Alamo Drafthouse Star Wars movie theater is made to look like it exists within the Death Star or even a Star Destroyer. After all, it would be weird to see a Death Star above you when you’re in the Death Star itself. This is aStar Wars theater, not an Inception movie theater.

And as you can see, it’s not just some wall panels here and there. The ticket booth is decked out just like some kind of Imperial command center.

Presumably it’s easy to get lost in this theater made by the Empire, so there are signs that point you to the auditorium where your movie is playing, or to the nearest battle station.

And if you’re looking to take a load off while also feeling pretty powerful, you can sit in the Emperor’s throne.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a lightsaber duel between a father and son to oversee, because from the throne, you’ll also be able to activate the Death Star’s super laser with the controls in the chair. Come, boy, see for yourself. From here, you will witness the final destruction of the Alliance and the end of your insignificant rebellion.

So why did Alamo Drafthouse decide to have Kansas City’s Dimensional Innovations make this particular theater in the middle of the United States such a haven for Star Wars fans? A statement given to EW from the team says:
The idea behind the lobby is that we wanted to construct and install a lobby theme that would make us unique in our Omaha market as well as the midwest. We also wanted a theme that was built around an iconic film and to completely own that theme to immerse our guests in the experience. That is when Star Wars came into the picture and it just so happened that we timed it out just right with the announcement of the huge plans for a new Star Wars legacy starting this December. It is a permanent installation and will be thee destination to see all of the new Star Wars films.

* thanks, Timewaster!
